Meet our Silverstone Rally School Team

Michael Stanley

Michael has grown up with a passion for motorsport, starting with Rotax Max karting, taking part in various championships including the TW Steel events at Daytona in Milton Keynes. He then went on to instruct in karts at Silverstone Circuit, which led to Formula Ford and Tin Top Racing in MINIs. 

A move to Ireland saw Michael take up an engineering apprenticeship with a garage preparing rally cars. This led to competing in the Oval Racing Series, winning the All

Ireland Championship in a Fiesta MK2.  Ireland was also the start of his rally career, eventually placing second in the Kerry Rally. Now back in England, he currently competes in a Subura Impreza.

Izzie Holman

Izzie has grown up watching Formula One with her dad and has always had a passion for motorsport. She has been volunteering for her car club for the past four years.

She currently competes as a co-driver in any car that will give her a seat, as well as being the PR and Social Media Officer for the Forest Rally Stage at the Festival of Speed.

Having spent her early career working in TV and social media in Formula E, she has all the skills as well as the passion for rally needed to make a fantastic Sales and Marketing Manager.

Stuart Ziemelis

Stuart has been racing from the age of 15 in Karts and cars and impressively won the British Kart Championship 3 times. He is an engine tuner and chassis manufacturer. He was instrumental in establishing the Association of Racing Kart Schools (ARKS) and set-up the first gearbox kart school. 

Stuart has worked with most major manufacturers including Ferrari, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Porsche and Mercedes as

a driving consultant. He is a a fully qualified ADI and fleet registered driving coach, Lantra and Borda Qualified in 4x4 Driving, HGV and trailer tuition including CPC modules.

Wayne Ward

Wayne began his motorsport career in 1979 on Autograss Racing in many

different classes, until 1984 when he started rallying in a MK1 Escort.By 1996 he was racing a plethora of different cars including Minis, Toyota Starlets and Eurocars on oval and long circuits. Continuing his racing career,in 2010 he began teaching the art of rallying, and then navigating from 2013.

Wayne has been with Silverstone Rally School for the past year, delivering stunt training, rally techniques and driver dynamics. A great asset to the team,in great demand.

Simon Clark

"A lucky guy who started his motorsport journey going on a rally experience day, beat the lap record and was offered a job on the day." That was 24 years ago and now works for countless manufacturers.

He is a qualified agricultural engineer, ran a garage for nearly 10 years, and then made the decision to instruct full time.

Simon has competed in select rally events over the years – the Bulldog, Woodpecker, Rockingham and Oakington Challenge. Working across the globe in Sweden, Norway, Poland and Morocco to name a few. His best claim to fame is being Chief Development Driver for the Ariel Nomad.

Marcel Freling

Marcel began his rally career in a Suzuki Swift GTI way back in 1993. Since then he has competed around the world including Rally Barbados. 

Ginetta G20 Rally Car Project Driver,   Mechanic and Event Support for the 2016 Vauxhall Junior Championship, and 2018 MG3 Challenge Car Test Driver are among his claims to fame. 

A seasoned professional and expert instructor, Marcel has worked for many experience companies before joining the SRS Team.

Connor Poole

Connor joined the Rally School back in 2009. He is a qualified BARS S Licenced instructor. He has taught customers of all levels from novices to international rally drivers and stunt actors for film and TV. His true passion lies in teaching the next generation of rally competitors and thoroughly enjoys looking after the Silverstone Youth Rally Academy.

Connor has competed as both co-driver and driver in a wide selection of cars from RWD Turbo Subarus to Silverstone Rally School Hire Cars. He is now competing in his own GC8 97 RA Subaru Impreza. Connor himself said he learned his most essential skills at the school when he attended as a student many years ago!

Tony McGregor

Tony started training as a student in 2015 initially for the British Stunt Registry.  He completed the precision driving qualification in FWD, RWD and 4WD and competed in a number of rallies.

After finishing his training he was inspired to pass on his knowledge and stayed on as an instructor. He continued training to develop the skills required for TV/film sets.Over the last few years, Tony has instructed at the Youth Academy and on our driver training courses alongside competing as a co-driver.
